Ubuntu makes a distinction between server and desktop. Ubuntu desktop
LTS is supported for 3 years and Ubuntu server LTS for 5 years.

According to http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download-server Ubuntu
server 8.04 is maintained until April 2013.

Kind regards,
