Gotcha. Hmm … It would be a nice feature.
I just found a response from Martijn a few years back about the effect on security. Which
makes sense. But our issue is that when an external user receives an email only once
every so often, they forget the password they put in every time. And most external users
fit this category.
So then it’s up to me to reset the password and deal with it manually each time. How have
other admins dealt with this? Or do they?

I couldn't find any clear information on allowing existing users to reset a forgotten
password. To recover the admin password, yes.
But for an external or internal user, if they had received an encrypted mail in the
distant past, created a password and have since forgotten ... what is the approach for
allowing them to self-service their password reset?
