We are happy to announce a new patch release of CipherMail Email
Encryption Gateway. This release fixes an important issue that could
cause both the administrative and user web interfaces to become
dysfunctional ten days after their last restart. We encourage all
administrators to update their CipherMail systems as soon as possible.
Users of the Community Edition can find new distribution packages here:
Virtual appliance images are also available for download:
You are advised to create a backup before performing the update on any
production system. The full update procedure can be found here:
Customers with an active subscription can update their CipherMail
Gateway installations using the CipherMail Console menu, or with
'$ sudo dnf update' on the command line. New virtual appliance images
and package archives for offline installation can be obtained through
the support portal: https://support.ciphermail.com/user/downloads
Note for customers: if you are updating from a version prior to 5.2.2,
please run the command '$ sudo cm-run-playbook' afterwards.
Customers with a CipherMail Gateway high-availability cluster are
advised to update their cluster one node at a time. More information
about cluster updates can be found on our documentation website:
CipherMail Email Encryption Gateway 5.2.4 release notes:
- A recent systemd update resulted in the unexpected cleaning of
temporary files that have not been written to in at least 10 days.
Whenever this happened, the administrative web interface and user
portal would become dysfunctional until restarted. This has been
fixed by adding configuration that prevents systemd from periodically
cleaning the temporary files used by the CipherMail frontend.
