Dear CipherMail Gateway/Webmail administrator,
As announced on March 17th on this list, the CipherMail virtual
appliances based on CentOS 7 will reach the end of their lifecycles on
November 28th, 2022. No bugfixes or security patches will be provided
from that date forward. If you haven't started upgrading to one of our
appliances based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8, please consider doing
Also see our support policy at
Who is impacted?
- Customers of CipherMail Email Encryption Gateway 4.x
- Customers of CipherMail Webmail Messenger 3.x
- Users of CipherMail Community Gateway 4.x. There is no extended
support for Community users, and security support ended the day
CipherMail Community Gateway 5.0 was released.
What will happen?
Once your copy of CipherMail software has reached the end-of-support
date, you will no longer receive security updates. This means that the
security of your appliance can no longer be guaranteed. If the
appliance is connected to the internet, there is a substantial chance
that it will eventually be breached by someone with malicious intent.
For this reason, you should always keep your software up-to-date.
Some customers have received a tailored update to CipherMail Gateway
5.0 or Webmail 4.0, without having to upgrade to Red Hat Enterprise
Linux 8. We are working with these customers to upgrade their
appliances to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 as well.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this message, please

customers are always entitled to upgrade support.
Thank you for your trust in CipherMail Email Encryption.
